"I Still Believe" is a pop song first made famous by Brenda K. Starr, and then covered by my idol Mariah Carey. As a true lamb, I grew a deep infatuation with her version due to it's deep connections to occurrences in my own life. Here, I am expressing how I still hope to be with my lost love...

"Encantadora Maria" by Edward Kilenyi tranlates to "Charming Maria," and in this song, I am expressing the great grief I feel in my heart from losing the love of my life. "Rainbow Interlude" by Mariah Carey serves the purpose to bridge together the general storyline I created for my recital. Here, I am expressing that during tough times, I will make it through the rain to happier days. I even added the previously unheard verse from my performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to help further this idea of persistence.

I chose "Lift Every Voice and Sing" arranged by Craig Courtney because I felt this anthem was the perfect way to end my recital. Through this classic spiritual, I am saying no matter what hardship I face I will not be stopped in conquering my dreams! Fun fact: the song begins with "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" which is one of the songs used to audition into Ball State's School of Music!
